Head Animators Assignment
Before we started on the production of the animation, we decided to split up the different shots from the animatic to the members of the team.

Some shots with these characters were labeled harder then the others and were handled to the people who understood the characters the most.

For example, the shots with Persephone either were given to or were heavily assisted by Hyun-ji who was the character designer for her.

The Excel sheet to the right helped us manage who was in charge of what shot, and also helped to understand which shot was going to be difficult to animate, as well as who was in charge of Keying and/or Inbetweening the shot.

Animation shot assignment sheet

Shot 19 rough and coloring by Louise Wong
Effects Animation
Sand Effects and Slime effects by Ashyln Stout
All effects animation was done by Ashlyn as she was the most experienced in that field. After the character animation of these shots was finished Ashlyn would go in and add the effects animation last. The effects would be exported in its own PNG Sequence, separate from the character animation.

3D modelling footage used for Rotoscoping (Pardon our language)
Animating trains in 2D sounds extremely difficult. And you're right. Why bother doing it the hard way when you can just rotoscope a 3D model? Like we said back in the Layouts page, 3D modeling the train was absolutely worth it.
